Real Madrid will be back in action in La Liga on Saturday as they get set to take on Real Betis away at Estadio Benito Villamarin.
Coming into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey, Los Blancos will be eager to get another victory and put pressure on Barcelona, who are scheduled to play on Sunday.
However, Real Madrid will have to do so without one of their most important players as Federico Valverde is set to miss the Real Betis clash, reports journalist Carlos Rodriguez.
The 26-year-old Uruguayan international has been dealing with discomfort in his left hamstring for some time now and had been rested for back-to-back games against Girona and Real Sociedad.

While it was expected that Valverde would return for tomorrow’s game against Betis, reports on Thursday suggested that his fitness issue was more serious than initially expected, casting doubts over his availability.
Now, the aforementioned journalist confirms that Valverde is not training with the rest of the group in Real Madrid’s final session before tomorrow’s trip to Seville and as such he will not be available for selection.
Valverde joins Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Dani Ceballos, and Jesus Vallejo on the treatment table while Jude Bellingham is also unavailable through suspension, posing a major headache for manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Up until last weekend, Valverde had played all of Real Madrid’s 41 matches in all competitions this season, but is now set to miss his third game in a row.
Real Madrid will now be hoping that the 26-year-old recovers in time for next week’s UEFA Champions League game against Atletico Madrid.
