The transfer team at Juventus have identified a new target amid the club’s ongoing search for reinforcements in the middle of the park.
The player in question? André-Frank Zambo Anguissa. It is of course common knowledge that the powers that be at the Allianz Stadium have identified Juve’s midfield ranks as being in need of fresh blood with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign.
This comes with both Paul Pogba and Nicolò Fagioli having been on the receiving end of long-term bans.
A whole host of engine room stars, in turn, have been tipped as potential arrivals in Turin.
From Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to Lazar Samardžić to Khephren Thuram, Massimiliano Allegri and co. are understood to be keeping tabs on players throughout the continent.
As alluded to above, though, on Wednesday, a new name has been added to the Bianconeri’s alleged wishlist.
And this one comes far closer to home.
As per a report from Il Corriere dello Sport, the Juventus brass have set their sights on the services of Napoli standout André-Frank Zambo Anguissa.
Cristiano Giuntoli is the man who brought Anguissa to Napoli back in 2021, with the Italian now keen to reunite in Turin.
Striking a deal for such a key figure at a direct Serie A rival, however, looks a tall task for Giuntoli and his staff.
Anguissa’s contract in Naples does contain a €45 million release clause, but this is only valid for clubs outside of Italy.
Juve, as a result, would be forced to pay a premium fee for his signature, unlikely when taking into account the Old Lady’s limited funds.
