Kylian Mbappé (26) and his mother, Fayza Lamari, have filed a lawsuit for public insults, pertaining notably to incessant “bullying” on social media.

Mbappé has been entangled in a long-running dispute with his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, over €55m of unpaid wages and bonuses. The France captain has been authorised to make a precautionary seizure of the aforementioned amount, which has been frozen in the club’s accounts ahead of a legal hearing.

However, whilst the bitter battle with the Real Madrid forward’s former club persists, another legal action has been instigated by the Mbappé family. This one pertains to incessant “bullying”, notably on social media, which his lawyers say constitute public insults.

Mbappé’s lawyers look to attack ‘virality of the insults’

“It is about attacking the virality of the insults,” said Pierre-Olivier Sur, one of the lawyers speaking at a press conference on Thursday. He added, “There is no limit to Kylian Mbappé’s glory but there is a limit to the price of his glory.”

While his lawyers continue to engage in these pursuits, the AS Monaco academy product has matters to take care of on the pitch with Real Madrid looking to overturn a 3-0 deficit in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal.
