Lazio have reportedly avoided an emergency situation in the full-back department, as Manuel Lazzari and Nuno Tavares have returned to training.
Earlier this week, it was feared that Luca Pellegrini could be the only full-back available at Marco Baroni’s disposal for Saturday’s pivotal clash against Juventus. But according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazzari and Tavares have rejoined their teammates in training on Wednesday, so they’re now expected to earn call-ups for the weekend showdown.
Moreover, Adam Marusic, who picked up a knock in last Sunday’s contest against Empoli, should resume training in the coming days. The source expects the Montenegrin to get the nod at right-back, with Pellegrini starting on the left, while Tavares and Lazzari will start on the bench.
Hence, the suspended Elseid Hysaj could be the only full-back absentee at Lazio, which means that the earlier warnings turned out to be false alarms. The same source reveals that Samuel Gigot and Taty Castellanos are being carefully managed during the week, as their physical conditions remain delicate.
Nevertheless, the Argentine striker is still expected to lead the line against Juventus, with Mattia Zaccagni and Gustav Isaksen on the flanks. Boulaye Dia should get the nod in the attacking-midfielder role, but Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is pushing for a spot. In midfield, Matteo Guendouzi and Nicolo Rovella should maintain their places.
Lazio Expected XI (4-2-3-1): Mandas; Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Pellegrini; Rovella, Guendouzi; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni; Castellanos
