Lazio coach Marco Baroni will reportedly have more options at his disposal heading into the next contest against Lecce.
The Biancocelesti will head to Salento in the weekend for a Serie A clash against Marco Giampaolo’s in-form side. Lazio will be hellbent on turning the page with a convincing win away from home after suffering their most agonizing defeat in recent memory on Monday, as they were steamrolled by Inter Milan who scored six unanswered goals at the Stadio Olimpico.
Although this cannot justify the astonishing result, the Aquile were hampered by the tough consequences during the encounter, which eventually forced Baroni to field a makeshift defense, with Adam Marusic having to fill in at centre-back.
But according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), the Biancocelesti should receive a few injury boosts in the coming day, especially in the backline. Moreover, Baroni feels that the few days of rest granted to the team (due to the lack of midweek action) should allow the squad to restore their energy levels and perhaps allow a few players to calmly overcome their physical issues.
Therefore, Alessio Romagnoli could make his return to action after missing the last couple of fixtures due to a slight injury problem he suffered during the away victory over Napoli in Serie A. Moreover, Mario Gila should regain his health after feeling dizzy during the first half against Inter which forced his exit.
Ironically, his replacement Samuel Gigot didn’t last too long either, as he was on the receiving end of blows to the head. However, the Frenchman should be fine for the next contest, and the same goes for Boulaye Dia who was an unused substitute on Monday due to an ankle problem. The Senegalese is thus expected to resume his partnership with Taty Castellanos who returns to the squad after serving a one-match ban.
