Lazio are reportedly tracking young Serbian striker Mihailo Ivanovic who emerged as a breakout star at Millwall this season.
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, the Biancocelesti could decide to keep both Taty Castellanos and Boulaye Dia for next season, unless they receive irresistible offers. Nevertheless, the management is seeking a young profile with strong physical attributes who can be added to the attacking department.
The report notes how Marco Baroni’s men tend to struggle against teams that pile defenders at the back and force them to play long ball towards the box, as was the case when Juventus were reduced to ten men on Saturday. The source believes a towering centre-forward would be useful on such occasions.
Hence, Ivanovic has been identified as a potential solution. The 20-year-old is a youth product of Vojvodina, the same Serbian club that produced Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The young bomber spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Sampdoria’s Primavera squad, before returning to his original club.
In the summer of 2024, Ivanovic joined Millwall on a deal worth €3 million. He initially struggled to prove his worth in front of goal, but exploded during the second half of the season. Between February and the end of the campaign, he scored 10 goals in 17 appearances, helping The Lions finish eighth in the Championship table, only two points adrift from the playoff spots.
The Serbian has already made his debut for the senior national team, and due to his large frame and overall characteristics, he has been compared to his compatriot Dusan Vlahovic.
