Millwall forward Mihailo Ivanovic could be on the move this summer
Serie A outfit Lazio are reportedly interested in Mihailo Ivanovic, who impressed for Millwall in the 2024/25 Championship campaign following his move from Vojvodina the previous summer.
That's according to a recent report from Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, which may put the Lions on red alert after finishing the season in eighth position under Alex Neil.
Millwall finished just two points shy of sixth-placed Bristol City in the final play-off spot and another season in the Championship now awaits, where they will be looking to force their way into top-six contention.
Retaining the services of Ivanovic may just prove instrumental to those ambitions, and it's little surprise the Serbian frontman is earning interest in the wake of an eye-catching debut campaign at The Den.
Ivanovic arrived at Millwall in a then-club-record £3 million deal from his native Serbia last summer, and has adapted well to life in the Championship. The 20-year-old finished as his side's top scorer with 12 goals from 37 appearances and enjoyed particularly potent goalscoring form in the latter stages of the season to help Millwall threaten for a play-off spot.
Those performances, however, have seemingly prompted wider interest, and Ivanovic could well be on the move in the months to come.
As per the aforementioned report, Lazio are in the market for a new striker this summer and have identified Ivanovic as a target.
Lazio, who are fifth in the Italian top-flight standings at this moment in time, are said to be "monitoring" Ivanovic ahead of a potential move.
The report adds that Ivanovic is valued at €10 million (£8.4 million), with Millwall intent on collecting significant profit if the highly-rated forward does indeed depart.
Ivanovic signed a "long-term contract" - the length of which is officially undisclosed - after joining Millwall nearly twelve months ago, and the Championship side have security over his future and will not need to sell on the cheap.
The Lions will know that they will struggle to retain young, high-potential talent like Ivanovic forever if they cannot offer top-flight football, but they will still surely hope and expect to get at least one more campaign out of the ex-Sampdoria striker.
Ivanovic naturally required time to fully acclimate to English football but blossomed into a star as the season went on, scoring 10 goals in his final 17 games. There is everything to suggest that Ivanovic can continue his trajectory and establish himself as one of the Championship's leading marksmen in 25/26, which could deliver real success to Millwall while increasing his value exponentially.
A 20-goal season, for example, could lead Millwall to demand an asking price in the region of £15-20 million, which would represent outstanding profit.
