Frosinone midfielder Marco Brescianini is very close to signing for Atalanta which will mean that AC Milan receive money thanks to a sell-on clause.

As reported by the regional newspaper L’Eco di Bergamo (via Milan News), La Dea are on the verge of securing a deal with Serie B side Frosinone for the midfielder who is a product of the Milan youth academy.

The expectation is that he will move to Atalanta for a fee of around €10m and will then be under the expert guidance of Gian Piero Gasperini.

Milan opted to sell Brescianini to Frosinone on a permanent deal last summer, but they retain the right to 50% of any fee that Frosinone receive for him. Therefore, Milan could be set for €5m.

Their relegation to Serie B was more in spite of Brescianini rather than because of him, and clubs in Serie A know that.

Whilst €5m is not the sort of fee that would revolutionise Milan’s transfer market, it is the amount that they need to add to their bid for AS Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana for the French side to accept it.

Therefore, Atalanta could find themselves unlocking Milan’s pursuit of Fofana for their own midfield this summer.
