Rabbi Matondo has appeared on the Whites' radar, as they look to recruit a replacement for Crysencio Summerville.
Leeds United have taken an interest in Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo.
This is according to Football Scotland, who believe the Whites have a "strong interest" in the wide player, who has played in England before.
Leeds are on the prowl for new wide players following the departures of Jaidon Anthony and Crysencio Summerville in recent months.
Not only have those two left, but Ian Poveda has also departed, having left Elland Road following the expiration of his contract.
Anthony didn't start that regularly during his loan spell, with others ahead of him in the pecking order, and Poveda failed to live up to his potential during his time in West Yorkshire.
Summerville, however, has created a huge void to fill following his move to West Ham United, having registered 21 goals and 10 assists in all competitions during the 2023/24 campaign.
His contributions helped Daniel Farke's side to finish in third place and record 90 points during the 46-game season, a magnificent total that didn't pay dividends for them in the end.
Following their play-off final defeat against Southampton, a number of key players departed Elland Road, with the likes of Archie Gray, Glen Kamara and Summerville all leaving in recent months, and Georginio Rutter looking set to follow them out of the exit door.
With these sales, as well as the sales of the likes of Diego Llorente and Marc Roca in mind, Farke could have a decent amount to spend in the coming weeks.
And these funds will be much-needed, with a number of areas needing to be strengthened.
With Willy Gnonto not guaranteed to remain at Leeds beyond the end of the window either, the wing area has to be seen as a key priority to address, even with the Italian and Dan James available as options there at this stage.
Leeds have a strong interest in Matonto at this point, according to Football Scotland.
The wide player managed to be an effective asset in front of goal for the Gers during the 2023/24 campaign, registering 10 goal contributions in all contributions.
And this has seemingly been enough for Leeds to take an interest in the 23-year-old, who has thrived north of the border.
It's believed that the Scottish Premiership side are open to offers for the player, who could shine in the Championship if given another opportunity to play in England's second tier.
Leeds could benefit from bringing in Matondo.
At 23, the winger still has plenty of time to improve and develop into an even better player, so this could end up being a very shrewd move if they can get a deal over the line.
It seems as though the Gers are open to offloading him too, so the Whites may not have to spend too much to recruit him.
However, he seems like a more appropriate replacement for Anthony, rather than Summerville.
Leeds need Summerville's replacement to come in and make an impact straight away to give the Whites the best chance of securing promotion - but Matondo may take a while to settle in.
