The January transfer window will be an important month for Leeds United as Daniel Farke looks to strengthen his side in a bid to make an immediate return to the Premier League.

The Whites are currently in fourth place in the Championship table, and still in the mix for automatic promotion. However, strengthening in January will be important if Leeds are to keep in touch with Ipswich Town in second place.

Leeds are yet to make a signing so far in January but have seen two departures, with Djed Spence having his loan at the club terminated and Luke Ayling leaving Elland Road to join Championship rivals Middlesbrough on loan.

It's set to be a busy couple of weeks at the club as Farke looks to recruit players and move players on who are deemed surplus to requirements. Here is the latest Leeds United transfer news...

Leeds handed Kieffer Moore boost

Teamtalk have reported that Dominic Solanke is set to remain with Bournemouth this month, which could spell good news for Leeds and their pursuit of Kieffer Moore.

Had Solanke left, Bournemouth may have been more reluctant to let Moore leave so the fact their main striker is staying at the club should provide Leeds with optimism that they can sign the Welshman this month.

However, Leeds face stiff competition to bring Moore to the club, with journalist Darren Witcoop reporting that seven Championship clubs want to sign the striker this month.

Plymouth set to sign Leeds midfielder

Football Insider have reported that Championship rivals Plymouth Argyle are set to sign Leeds United's Darko Gyabi on loan.

Midfielder Gyabi joined Leeds from Manchester City in 2022 but has found game time hard to come by, making just five senior appearances for the club so far.

The 19-year-old is wanted by the Pilgrims as a replacement for Luke Cundle and Finn Azaz, who departed Home Park this month.

This would be a beneficial move for all parties. Gyabi would get some much-needed Championship minutes, Plymouth need midfielders and Leeds need the youngster to play senior football.

Crysencio Summerville update

Leeds' star man Crysensio Summerville has been the subject of Premier League interest this month, with it being reported that Brighton and Aston Villa are keeping a close eye on the Dutchman, according to Football Insider.

It's also been reported by Anfield Watch that Liverpool are keen to move for the Dutchman in the summer, with the club being impressed by Summerville's performances this season.

However, for now, Summerville remains a Leeds player and is reportedly happy at Elland Road. He'll be looking to add to his 12 goals this season when Leeds travel to South Wales to face Cardiff on Saturday.

Leeds unlikely to sanction big transfer outlays this month

According to Football Insider, Leeds are not likely to sanction any big transfer outlays this month, regardless of the money they bring in through sales of players.

The Whites saw Robin Koch depart on a permanent basis recently and also have the likes of Brenden Aaronson, Luis Sinisterra, Jack Harrison, and Rasmus Kristensen out on loan, with those players seemingly having no long-term future at Elland Road.

Leeds will instead target loan signings this month, with Spence's return to Tottenham helping to free up loan places. The Whites currently have just Joe Rodon and Jaidon Anthony on loan from Tottenham and Bournemouth respectively.
