According to Sky Germany, Leroy Sané could be set to receive a new contract at Bayern Munich.

It has previously been reported that Der Rekordmeister are looking to find an agreement with Sané regarding a new deal, and this is something that the 28-year-old has also stated his interest in. Speaking to Kicker, Sané stated his intent on remaining in Bavaria:

“I’ve mentioned often enough in the past few weeks how much I enjoy playing for FC Bayern. We’ve already had initial discussions and will continue these at an appropriate time after the European Championships.”

With EURO 2024 on the horizon, it is expected that club football, regarding transfers and contract extensions, will be put on hold. Regardless, this will not prevent both Bayern and Sané from eventually agreeing on a new deal.

With Vincent Kompany now in charge at the Allianz Arena, it is understood that Sané will play a significant role under the Belgian. Having played together at Manchester City, the pair share an understanding of one another, as the 28-year-old made clear:

He was an absolute leader with an impeccable character who always led the way. He looked after us young players really well and supported us.”

With ten goals and 14 assists in all competitions last season, it appears that Sané has found a connection with Bayern’s marksman Harry Kane. Therefore, if Kompany is to succeed with the record champions, then it is clear to see that the former Schalke winger will need to remain at the club.
