According to a report from Corriere dello Sport, a race for AS Roma midfielder Enzo Le Fée (24) is beginning to develop between two of his former head coaches: Régis Le Bris at Sunderland and Bruno Génésio at Lille OSC.
Le Fée previously worked under Sunderland manager Régis Le Bris during their shared time at FC Lorient. Le Fée had an impressive campaign with Le Bris in the 2022/23 season when the two helped Lorient record a 10th-place finish in Ligue 1.
It was this season that helped Le Fée earn a big-money move to Stade Rennais where he then worked briefly under Bruno Génésio at the start of the 2023/24 campaign. However, the now-Lille head coach left his role by mutual consent after a run of disappointing results.
Both clubs need reinforcements in midfield with Sunderland in the hunt for Premier League football while Lille are looking to balance their domestic campaign with their Champions League exploits.
Corriere dello Sport writes that Roma would be happy with a loan as long as it came with an option to buy so that they can recover some of the €23 million they spent over the summer bringing him to the Italian capital.
