The Clarettes announced news of the arrangement via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
Lackey joins Burnley off the back of netting 11 times for AFC Fylde in the first half of the season. The player will use the latest opportunity to further her development.
After adding Lackey to her squad, Burnley boss Rebecca Sawiuk said “Ginny’s a great talent, a good person, she has settled into the group really well. She’s an excellent finisher, the strike, the power, very creative, can find pockets of space in super tight areas. It’s as if socially and psychologically within our group she’s been here the whole season, which is pretty remarkable to come in and fit in.
“The players have built quick relationships with her, we’ve been looking at her and where she fits in with midfielders, how she connects with wide players, forwards, and we’re really pleased with how she’s settled in and everyone’s really excited to have her at Burnley.”
Lackey is yet to be involved for parent club Manchester City at senior level, however, the youngster’s career is going in the right direction and she could make her mark during her time at Burnley.
The forward joins a Burnley side that are in hot pursuit of FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division leaders Newcastle United.
