Igor Matanovic will be joining up with the Croatia squad in early September during the first FIFA international break of the 2024/25 season. Croatia are involved in the UEFA Nations League, and will face Portugal on Thursday 5 September at 20.45 CEST in the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon. Three days later on Sunday 8 September, they will take on Poland in the Opus Arena in Osijek, with kick-off also at 20.45 CEST.

Matanovic went out on loan to Karlsruher SC last season, scoring 14 goals in 32 Bundesliga 2 appearances. The 1.94m striker has returned to the Eagles for the 2024/25 season and scored twice in each of the friendlies against Louisville and FSV Frankfurt, and was also on target in Eintracht’s 4-1 win over Eintracht Braunschweig in the first round of the DFB Cup on Monday.
