INEOS chiefs are hard at work in granting Ruben Amorim one of the most necessary deals of the season.
The Manchester United board are currently locked in negotiations to extend Amad Diallo’s contract at Old Trafford in hopes of ensuring he stays long beyond his current June 2025 expiry.
They do hold the option of exercising a one-year extension but are instead looking to reward him with a new deal entirely, in turn fending off any potential outside interest in the 22-year-old.
It’s no surprise that Amad’s future is at the forefront of United’s plans heading into the new year. If they didn’t act soon, he’d be able to open talks with foreign clubs and even sign a pre-agreement from January. Such a prospect is simply unfathomable to supporters – and Amorim, for whom the player has become an instrumental part of the project he’s building in M16.

ESPN assure that there are now only ‘minor details remaining’ in talks between all parties, and if they continue advancing in the coming days, there are hopes an official announcement could come before the end of the year.
Despite his questionable treatment by Erik ten Hag, Amad has frequently proclaimed his desire to stay with the Red Devils; he once went as far as to claim that he could stay his entire career at the club.
When scoring his emphatic match-winner at the Etihad on Sunday, he celebrated by repeatedly kissing and pointing to the United badge – as he has done on more than one occasion.
Skipper Bruno Fernandes poured praise on his young teammate after the game, telling Sky Sports: “When he (Amad) is like this, he is unstoppable. I just want him to keep working. That is what he has been doing. It is great what he did today, but I am sure he can do this every week. We want this week in, week out. He is now getting his chances, deservedly.”
