Juventus boss Thiago Motta was satisfied with his team’s performance as they held AC Milan to a 0-0 draw at San Siro last night.

Milan went into the game realistically needing to win in order to establish themselves as Scudetto contenders after an inconsistent start to the season.

However, there was very little in terms of attacking impetus or creativity from the Rossoneri, who were unable to break down a Juve side who probably came for a draw.

It feels like a big missed opportunity for Paulo Fonseca’s side and they could go 10 points off top spot if Napoli beat Roma later today.

Motta spoke to DAZN after the full-time whistle to give his thoughts on the match and he took a glass half full view, with his comments coming via MilanNews.

Excellent defensively, but not great offensively…

“Yes, I’m satisfied with the work, especially defensively: we gave them very little if anything. In the offensive phase, we created little but we reached some areas of the pitch where we could have finished well.

“All in all, we played well and I think this point gives continuity to our work. I’m satisfied to have seen a team that knows how to be on the pitch, like a great team, and I’m proud of my players.

“Today we are doing well, making comparisons is inevitable but impossible because the situation is different. I am satisfied with many things done well.

“We must be happy but we are only at the beginning. Now we must continue and improve many things that we can improve as a team. The path is the right one.

“Today I’m satisfied with what I saw, because we faced a team that is not easy in the open field and has its strengths. For the next game we’ll see how our guys are and also our opponents.”
