Jose Mourinho’s first months at Fenerbahce seem to be going very well for the Special One.

Since he landed in Turkey, after a bad breakup with Roma, everything is going swimmingly with the new club.

As highlighted by the Special One for the news of Çağlar Söyüncü returning to Fener after his loan to Atlético Madrid.

In an interview with AS, the former Roma boss revealed how he had wanted to bring Soyuncu to the Italian capital but in the end things did not work out.

“I’m very happy. I thank our president because he was one of the players I wanted to keep. Çağlar has qualities that I really like as a central defender. I had already told him that I wanted him to stay.”

“In our team we always want players who want to stay at the club and who are committed,” he added.

“Before arriving at Fenerbahçe, I was interested in him when I worked at Roma, I wanted to bring him into the team, but it wasn’t possible then.”

“He knows well what I want and I know well what he wants. He loves this place very much and he wanted to move here permanently.”
