The Bundesliga league leaders served up an ultra-defensive performance in their top of the table clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday night at the Bay Arena.
Bayern maintained their significant eight-point gap at the top of the table despite registering zero shots on target in the match whilst displaying no intent of winning the game.
Indeed, it is the first time in 33 years the Bavarian club failed to produce a single shot at goal in a top-flight match. However, boss Vincent Kompany was delighted with the point at the home of the resigning Bundesliga champions.

Celtic travel to Munich today to play Bayern tomorrow night and will attempt to overcome a 2-1 deficit. Kompany’s men are heavy favourites for the second leg with the winners of the tie facing either Leverkusen or Atletico Madrid in the last 16 next month.
Giving his assessment on punditry duties with Sky Sports, German icon Lothar Matthaus was shocked at Bayern’s performance versus Leverkusen: “I’ve never seen anything like it in my life from a Bayern Munich team. They didn’t have a single chance to score.

“But despite that, they will be very satisfied because they got the result they came for. Bayer Leverkusen had previously scored plenty of goals from the positions they got into, but they had no luck out there.
“But having said that – that’s the result that will win Bayern the title. Bayern Munich ‘won’ 0-0. And that’s the end of the Bundesliga race.”
