Khéphren Thuram is set to return having missed OGC Nice’s Coupe de France victory over Montpellier HSC with muscular discomfort, however, his teammate, Sofiane Diop is set for a more prolonged absence.
Thuram has struggled for fitness in recent weeks. Having missed a month of football with a knee injury, which ruled him out until early in the New Year, he then missed Les Aiglons’ Coupe de France triumph in midweek, but he will return for the Côte d’Azur derby against AS Monaco on Sunday evening. He is expected to be put straight back in the starting XI, alongside Youssouf Ndayishimiye and Morgan Sanson.
However, Diop is not set to return any time soon. The Moroccan international has struggled with niggly injuries throughout the campaign and his latest, an unidentified foot issue, will rule him out at least for “the next two or three matches”, according to his manager Francesco Farioli. Further tests are required to identify the exact nature of the injury and in order to set a return date.
