One game after thumping Inter Miami 6-1, FC Cincinnati were given a taste of their own medicine by FC Charlotte.

The visitors scored two goals in two minutes to take a stunning early lead at TQL Stadium and things continued to get worse over 90 minutes.

Luciano Acosta pulled one back for the hosts and then had a chance to equalise from the spot, but goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina saved the attempt.

Minutes later, Luca Orellano thought he successfully turned things 2-2, but VAR ruled the goal offside.

Kerwin Vargas later added a third for the visitors and FC Cincinnati were forced to finish out the game with 10 men after two yellows to Miles Robinson.

Charlotte thought it was four on the night when Andrew Privett scored his first for the club until VAR also ruled this strike offside.

Cincinnati’s winning run ends at three games and will have other teams licking their lips. Charlotte, meanwhile, returned to winning ways.
