OGC Nice bid €12m for Mattia Viti (Empoli)

L’Équipe report that Ligue 1 side OGC Nice have submitted an opening €12m proposal for 20-year-old Italian youth international centre-back Mattia Viti, who is currently under contract with Serie A outfit Empoli until June 2025.

Following the signing of Rares Ille, OGC Nice are under pressure to conclude signings in a threadbare squad that lacks quality. French midfielder Alexis Beka Beka (21) is set to conclude a €14m move from Lokomotiv Moscow. Les Aiglons lost out to the Russian side last summer in their attempts to sign the player from Ligue 2 outfit SM Caen and now are paying double the price for the player compared to last summer.

Les Aiglons continue to attempt to make signings at left-back and centre-back. At centre-back, a major target has emerged in the form of Viti – OGC Nice have submitted an opening €12m bid for the player and are waiting to hear back.
