Stefan Ortega Moreno is confident that City can turn around our fortunes because of the quality among the squad and coaches.

The Blues have had a frustrating run of results and face a tough trip to Aston Villa at Saturday lunchtime for a 12:30 (UK) kick-off.

It’s a contrast to our recent years of success which has seen us win the Premier League in six of the last seven years, including the last four campaigns.

Ortega says a rough patch at some point had to be expected, particularly with so many injury setbacks, but says the mood remains confident.

“We are all humans. I think it is just normal there is a point where you struggle a little bit and with all the injured players we have,” he said.

“You don’t get the good rhythm of all the players playing with each other.

“When you come here, you see all the quality on the pitch, the manager we have, the staff, you know there will be a turnaround soon.

“Even on a bad day when you come to CFA, you see staff, the players and everything else around, you get a smile really quick on your face.”

Ortega also says that City have a history of both winning and bouncing back from tricky situations.

“First of all, no one wants to lose, everyone hates this feeling,” he added.

“I think Ruben [Dias] and the manager said it a week ago. We created a legacy here and we have the chance now to switch this again and show that we are able to go through a bad phase and get up again.

“There’s too much quality here and I think quite soon we will win games again. We have showed we are able to win a few games in a row as a well.”

Villa will be a tough test having showed their quality last season by qualifying for the Champions League for the first time.

But the German keeper says City have shown we can go anywhere and pick up a win.

“They’re a good opponent again,” Ortega said. “They have a good team, a good manager and good structure.

“It won’t be easy, but we are able to win against every team in this league.”
