Spain have been left sweating on the fitness of Alvaro Morata after the Spaniard suffered a nasty collision in the wake of his side booking their place in the final of EURO 2024.

The striker, who was taken off late in the piece, was part of his side's celebrations after they beat France 2-1 at the Allianz Arena, a result which sees them into Sunday's showpiece event where they will face one of Netherlands and England.

But as fan footage showed, he suffered a nasty knock when a security guard, who was chasing a pitch invader, appeared to slip and catch Morata with a two footed challenge.

It was one that left him limping away holding his left knee, and has sparked fears that he may miss the final, which takes place in five days time.

Spain, of course, will be hoping that their captain can shake it off and lead them out for the tournament finale.

After the game, La Roja boss Luis de la Fuente played down injury fears.

"Alvaro, we have to wait and see tomorrow. We believe it's nothing. It hurts but we think it's nothing."
