Following their return to the 1:1 status, FC Barcelona are now in a position to strengthen their squad in this very month of January, and, reportedly, they are making efforts to bring in an attacking reinforcement for Hansi Flick for the second half of the season.

In this regard, one of the players who has been most closely linked with the Catalan club is the Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, who is looking to leave the Premier League side, and his priority is to sign for the Blaugrana club.

Last week, the Manchester United coach, Ruben Amorim, once again left him out of the squad for the match against Rangers, highlighting his unfavorable position in the team.

Meanwhile, Rashford’s agent, Arturo Canales, is looking for a way out for his client, and for this purpose, recently met with the Barcelona Sporting Director, Deco. In that meeting, the agent made it clear that his client wants to play in the blue and garnet jersey, if only for a loan till the end of this season.

Furthermore, Mundo Deportivo reports that the English star also gave instructions to his agent to let the Blaugranes know that he is willing to lower his salary in order to join their team, keeping in view the fragile economic situation of the Catalans.

As things stand, despite their return to the 1:1 status, Barcelona do not have enough space in their wage bill to incorporate Marcus Rashford. They took note of Rashford’s offer, but currently, they cannot even raise the salary margin for these reduced wages.

One way to solve this problem would be to sell some of their players, but none of them would be willing to leave the Blaugrana club. Thus, if no departures take place, Barcelona will have to convince United to take on part of his wages to land him.

Meanwhile, other sides like Dortmund, Besiktas, and West Ham are also interested in signing him, but if he holds out till the end of the transfer window, Barcelona can consider signing him.
