Milan are still working on choosing a new director of sport and the favourite remains Fabio Paratici, ahead of Igli Tare and Tony D’Amico.

This is a role that currently does not really exist in the Rossoneri hierarchy, as Antonio D’Ottavio left and Geoffrey Moncada is the chief of Milan’s technical area until June, so they are revamping their club infrastructure to bring in someone specifically for these tasks.

According to multiple reports, a decision is expected within the next 10 days, so that someone is in place when the transfer market opens up in the summer.

Former Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur chief Paratici remains the hot favourite following a meeting with Milan director Giorgio Furlani.

He would not be available until after his ban has expired on June 30, 2025.

Paratici was given the 30-month ban in 2023 for financial irregularities during his time at Juventus, forcing him to walk away from the Tottenham job.

With his arrival, Paratici would also boost the odds of Max Allegri returning to Milan, as they had worked together at Juve.

Calciomercato.com continues to push D’Amico, but the fact he is still under contract with Atalanta represents a problem.

Former Lazio director Tare has fallen down the pecking order, though he had been linked with Milan for some time.

Other outliers are AS Monaco’s Thiago Scuro and Marcus Krosche of Eintracht Frankfurt.
