Serie A giants Lazio are witnessing a revival of Spanish winger Pedro this season and he has been in impressive form in recent weeks.
Yesterday, he grabbed a stoppage time winner against Porto in the Europa League and in the mixed zone, he was asked about his revival in Rome, after having not been at his best since arriving from Roma.
He spoke to TMW about his form this season and he said: “Age matters, but I feel in great shape. My teammates appreciate me, there is good harmony in the group and this gives you confidence and motivation to train better and better. When there is this climate, results come naturally.”
When asked about his renewal at Lazio, the Spaniard said: “I feel good and I’m in a good moment. As for the renewal, we haven’t spoken about it seriously yet; for now it’s not a priority. I’ve often discussed it with the coach, and the president jokes about it by saying ‘you have to continue, you’re fine now’. We’ll see how the season ends, then we’ll decide together.”
He also spoke about the project under Marco Baroni and had big praise for what the Italian is building. When asked about what has changed since the chaos of last season, he said:
“A lot of things, starting with the arrival of the coach, who is doing an extraordinary job. The staff, from the nutritionist to the doctor, also plays an important role. The new arrivals have given balance to the team, combining experience and youth. Being in such a positive context gives us an extra boost, and the results are coming. It’s great for all of us.”
The veteran has contributed to five goals in four Europa League games, also scoring three times in the Serie A. Those goals and helping Lazio move up the table and they are at the top of the Europa League table, because of that.
