Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos (30) could miss this Sunday’s Classique against Olympique de Marseille, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Marquinhos was replaced in injury time during the win over Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. The nature of the Brazilian’s injury has not been revealed but it could see him miss out against Marseille. At PSG, there is little concern regarding the centre-back, who was replaced by Lucas Beraldo at Anfield, but especially given Les Parisiens’ healthy lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table, there is no need to take risks.
Sunday’s Classique at the Parc des Princes is the only big test for PSG before they face Aston Villa in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League on April 9th. Luis Enrique could therefore use the match as an experiment for the match against Aston Villa, a match that Marquinhos will miss through suspension having picked up a yellow against Liverpool.
