On Sunday, L’Équipe reported that Paris Saint-Germain and Mohamed Salah’s representatives have been in ongoing talks, with the 32-year-old standout now seemingly more open to the idea of joining Paris. This has sparked speculation about a potential transfer.
However, PSG quickly dismissed the rumors, with a club spokesperson telling the French outlet, “It’s not true.” The report also suggests that Salah might be using these rumors to strengthen his contract negotiations with Liverpool.
A recent report from Football Insider claims Salah is looking for a lucrative extension to stay at Anfield until 2027. The Egyptian forward has solidified his legacy as a Liverpool legend and is reportedly seeking “three more years” with the club.

“He’s mentioned several times in the British media that it feels like his time at Liverpool might be coming to an end,” Loïc Tanzi said Monday on la chaine L’Équipe. “Those close to him are confirming that discussions are happening with PSG, and for the first time, Salah himself is leaving the door open for a potential move to Paris. The situation is different in Paris, though, where they’re denying the reports, saying there are no talks with Salah…
“People are being cautious, saying, ‘Be careful, since he’s in the final year of his contract. He might just be using PSG’s name to get a better deal at Liverpool.’ There are two sides to this story, but we’ve decided to go with it because we trust the sources close to Salah and believe there’s a real chance he could be at PSG next season.”
Journalist Ben Jacobs reported on Monday, citing sources, that PSG are not currently in talks with Salah.
Although Salah has a long-standing friendship with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the French club has not taken any action. Jacobs also suggests that Salah could use PSG’s name to put more pressure on Liverpool.
