The Hatters are already up and running in the market this summer, with Shandon Baptiste and Reuell Walters both completing moves to Kenilworth Road recently.

There is, of course, still work to be done to further boost Rob Edwards' side as they look to win an immediate promotion from the Championship back to the Premier League this season.

With focus turning more and more towards the coming campaign, the pressure will be ramped up on clubs this week, to try and get their business done before the action begins.

As a result, there are some things those connected with the club will want to make happen in the coming days.

So, with that in mind, we've taken a look at two scenarios that might happen in a dream week for Luton Town this week, right here.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi signs

It seems there may be a chance that this week will be decisive in deciding the future of Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi for the 2024/25 season.

According to a report from Alan Nixon, the 21-year-old is due to hold talks with a number of Championship clubs before deciding on a loan move for the coming campaign. Geographically, Luton are in a positive position.

Among the many sides credited with an interest in the winger are Luton Town, which means it would be a major coup for the Hatters if they were to be the ones to get this deal done.

Not only would it see them beat out a host of potential rivals in a transfer race, it would in the process secure them a hugely promising signing.

The winger was outstanding during a spell on loan in League One with Charlton Athletic during the 2022/23 campaign, highlighting his potential to make an impact in the Championship now.

His ability to both score and create chances would make him a major asset for Edwards' side, and after a quiet spell back at Palace last season, Rak-Sakyi will now feel he has a point to prove.

As a result, a strong round of talks that allows them to secure his services for the coming campaign, will surely be high on the list of priorities for Luton this week.

Teden Mengi stays

The Hatters have already lost one of their best defenders from last season in the past few days, with Gabe Osho departing to complete a move to French top-flight side Auxerre.

Now, it seems as though another individual who fits into that category is also starting to attract plenty of attention from elsewhere.

According to recent reports from French outlet Foot Mercato, another Ligue 1 side, Nice, are now taking an interest in Teden Mengi as well.

Having signed from Manchester United last summer, the centre-back enjoyed an impressive first season at Kenilworth Road. Indeed, that form has already seen him linked with the likes of Fulham, Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen.

That growing interest from top-flight clubs may put pressure on Luton as they look to keep hold of a key asset, who would no doubt play an important part in any promotion hopes this season.

It would certainly be a strong statement for the Hatters to keep him in spite of that, while they are a second-tier club, and so setting out a stance, and reaching an agreement with Mengi that sees him stay at Kenilworth Road for this season at least, is something they should be trying to do this week.
