Rangers’ CEO Patrick Stewart finally confirms Clement sack announcement | OneFootball

Patrick Stewart Rangers CEO today held his much anticipated press conference in which he finally confirmed Philippe Clement‘s status.

And rangers fans won’t be thrilled to learn that the board supports Clement.

But of course, this is not the case. In reality the board cannot afford to fire him and can’t exactly say so.

Therefore, there is an impasse whereby the board cannot say anything other than to support Clement.

To say otherwise would create a toxic culture whereby the board admit we have a lame-duck manager.

This would leave fans toxically encouraging Clement to resign and that would be a very unpleasant scenario.

Clement will not quit and we cannot afford to fire him therefore it’s catch 22 and we are trapped.

Would the supporters have expected the board to condemn Clement and not back him while being unable to afford to sack him?

So for public for now, we have to just carry on. It is far from ideal but unless someone has a spare 6 million, it’s just the way it is.
