Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has revealed his take that he and his teammates were fortunate to only lose to Arsenal by three goals.

Real are of course fresh off an evening to forget on Tuesday.

After making the trip to north London for a Champions League quarter-final showdown with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, Los Blancos found themselves condemned to the wrong side of an embarrassing result.

Owing to goals on the part of Declan Rice (2) and Mikel Merino, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops saw their chances of retaining their European crown massively dented, by way of a 3-0 loss.

And yet, as alluded to above, one individual of the opinion that the reigning Spanish champions were frankly ‘lucky’ with the result is Jude Bellingham.

After Thibaut Courtois conjured up a host of world-class saves, and Arsenal saw several other opportunities cleared off the goal-line at The Emirates, Bellingham was not shy in admitting:

“Arsenal could’ve had way more, we were lucky to get away with 3 goals. To be honest, there are no excuses… we have to look solely at ourselves. It’s similar to what happened to us all season, but against Arsenal it’s on a larger scale.”
