Robin Propper has surely confirmed what Ibrox Noise reported to you some days ago exclusively; that he intends to leave Rangers in January and return to Holland.

And his confirmation comes via criticism of his manager, his playing time, and the fans.

Propper isn’t happy in Scotland with Rangers, and his quotes from back home in the Netherlands just vindicate our reports from months ago that he really didn’t want to leave Twente for Rangers and now considers it an error doing so.

He said:

“Despite my age I still have to get used to Scottish football. In the Eredivisie there is a lot of focus on tactics and footballing ability, everybody wants to build from the back. But over here the focus lies more on the end result. You are playing against opponents whose keeper hits the ball long upfield. Many Scottish teams want to get forward as soon as possible. They’ll play long balls over the opposing defence to quickly get in on their goal. You also hear from the crowd that they want us to get the ball forward. But in Holland we’ll maybe opt to play it wide, or even take time in possession. Sometimes there isn’t the patience for us to do this over here.”

So slaughtering the fans for lacking patience, apparently. Slaughtering the Scottish game for being direct. Extolling the virtues of Holland with its ‘better’ football.

He went on:

“I’m enjoying it here, but I certainly don’t play every game. There is room for improvement. The manager changes his lineups according to who we are playing. That is something we are not so used to in Holland. As a footballer you want to play as much as possible. Back home I mainly used to think about playing short passes in to our strikers. Then they would receive the ball, but if you try it here it goes behind them. So I need to position myself differently, and use my body differently. But that’s why I have come here, to learn something new. My plan is to become an undisputed first-team regular by the end of the season. That’s what I’m aiming to do.”

His plan is to leave in January but he’s not going to say that just yet.

Attacking the manager for not picking him, attacking his play time for not being enough, attacking the fans for being intolerant of tippy tappy football that goes nowhere, Propper is doing nothing to ingratiate himself with the supporters, and his performances on the pitch have been rather poor.

It was an error signing him, and it was a panic addition, and the sooner this guy is gone the better.
