Alexis Saelemaekers made a surprise appearance in the second half of Roma’s 2-2 draw against Tottenham.
The Belgian winger featured in the final twenty minutes of the match for the first time since September, when he suffered an ankle injury that kept him out for the next two months.
After the game, Saelemaekers spoke to Sky Sport.
“I’m happy to be back, they were tough months. I worked hard, it hurt a lot,” he said.
“I came back and saw a great Roma tonight,” he added.
“Bentancur’s foul? It was a very strong hit. Thankfully I got up again.”
“This match will be important for the future: we know that we can play like this against strong teams and get points. We have to continue on this path.”
