La Liga outfit Sevilla have on Saturday announced an untimely personnel blow in the club’s first-team squad.
This comes amid confirmation that Adrià Pedrosa has been condemned to an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Left-back Pedrosa, for his part, has played an important role in Sevilla’s backline across the season to date, on his way to appearances in all but four of the club’s 31 league outings.
As per an official statement across the Nervionenses’ social media platforms on Saturday afternoon, however, the 25-year-old suffered a quad injury in training on Friday.
He will as a result be unavailable for selection when Quique’s troops play host to RCD Mallorca on Monday night.
Pedrosa is also considered highly unlikely to feature in next weekend’s derby showdown with Real Betis.
‘Sevilla player Adrià Pedrosa suffers a myotendinous injury in the rectus femoris of the quadriceps of his right leg , according to Sevilla FC Medical Services. After being injured in training this Friday, the full-back underwent an MRI, which revealed said ailment.
