Roma striker Eldor Shomurodov has reportedly agreed to take a wage cut in order to sign a new contract extension at the Stadio Olimpico, despite having almost left twice already this season.

Reports Shomurodov takes pay cut and extends Roma contract

According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Shomurodov has already signed a one-year extension to his current contract, which had been due to expire in the summer of 2026. That means that the new deal ties him to the Giallorossi until 2027.

2025 has arguably brough Shomurodov’s best performances in a Roma shirt. Having spent 2023 and the 2023-24 season on loan with Spezia and Cagliari, the Uzbek centre-forward almost joined MLS side Atlanta United, but that fell through due to a bureaucratic error.

He had also been close to joining Venezia during the January transfer window.

However, with an injury to Artem Dovbyk in the early stages of 2025, Shomurodov was given a consistent run of playing time under Claudio Ranieri, and has now scored five goals across all competitions since the end of January, proving a reliable back-up option after Dovbyk’s return.
