Gylfi Sigurdsson hopes he can secure regular action for Everton after victory over Chelsea.

Sigurdsson said: "Fantastic result. Defensively I thought it was a really good performance. A clean sheet was nice but overall very happy with the performance tonight.

"Delighted to see it hit the back of the net and even more so when it is the winning goal.

"Of course, if you ask any player who is not playing they want to play and that is the way it should be. I was happy to get a start tonight.

"We have to play like this every week. The commitment we showed is what we need. We bounced back tonight and hopefully we can continue."
