The 20-year-old represented Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United in her youth. Bourne started her senior career at Manchester United, although she didn’t feature for The Red Devils’ first team. In recent seasons, the player has built a wealth of experience in the Barclays Women’s Championship. She has twice turned out for Sheffield United, as well as Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City at that level.

Bourne has all of the attributes to become a top player and she will be hoping to continue her progression at Southampton this season.

After completing her move to St Mary’s Stadium, Bourne said “Having conversations with the staff here, my plans aligned with theirs. I feel like together, we can work towards big things, I’m excited for this season.

“The Championship’s a different ball game at times, you need different types of experience to win games – I feel like all my experience will come together to help the team.”

Bourne becomes Southampton’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
