Southampton are lining up a move for Spezia striker David Okereke as a plan b in case they miss out on Birmingham’s Che Adams.
Adams has been the Saints number one target for about six months now but the Premier League side are growing frustrated with the Blues and their valuation of the goalscorer.
As such, the south coast club are widening their net slightly in the search for a new forward and the Sun report that Okereke is next on their hit-list.
Okereke scored 10 goals and registered 12 assists in 33 games for the Serie B side last year and is thought to be valued at somewhere close to €12m.
The 21-year-old is also being monitored by Newcastle and Inter.
