Spain welcome Switzerland to Tenerife in the final fixture of their Nations League group campaign.
La Roja have confirmed progress to the quarter-finals as group winners, with Luis de la Fuente’s side aiming to win consecutive Nations League titles.
Spain could use the clash with already-relegated Switzerland as a chance to experiment with little on the line. The European champions are aiming to extend their unbeaten run to 16 games across all competitions, a run that includes success at Euro 2024 in the summer.
Ayoze Perez scored the winner in Denmark on Friday night but the in-form forward is a doubt for tonight’s clash. The 31-year-old has been excellent since signing for Villarreal in the summer and has 10 goals in 10 games at club level this season. However, he could miss out for Spain in his home city of Santa Cruz.
Luis de la Fuente handed a debut to Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado against Denmark and a trio of talents are aiming for first appearances this evening. Porto striker Samu Aghehowa, Atletico Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios and Athletic Bilbao defender Aitor Paredes could make their international debuts.
Spain have allowed Martin Zubimendi, Alex Baena and Mikel Oyarzabal to leave the squad early.
Spain predicted XI: Raya; Mingueza, Vivian, Cubarsi, Grimaldo; Merino, Ruiz; N Williams, Olmo, Pino; Morata.
Spain host Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League on Monday 18th November 2024. Kick-off in Tenerife is 19:45 GMT.
The game will be shown on Viaplay International YouTube channel.
