Two more Premier League games took place on Sunday as Liverpool faced Wolves, before struggling duo Tottenham and Manchester United locked horns in north London.
Here's what we made of it all.
Liverpool held on in the second half to beat a stubborn Wolves side, despite a resurgence from Vitor Pereira's side after the interval. Goals from Luis Díaz and a penalty from Mohamed Salah proved enough for all three points despite Matheus Cunha grabbing a goal for Wolves.
Then, Manchester United fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham thanks to an early goal from James Maddison in a clash of two woefully out of form sides.
On a day of little quality, Tottenham fullback Djed Spence stood out once more on the left side of Postecoglou's defence.
The 24-year-old was calm on the ball and was part of a trio that dominated Manchester United in the first half, while he snuffed out any danger in the second.
How has it taken Postecoglou so long to turn to him?
Liverpool held on against Wolves, but it was all one way traffic in the second half...
Liverpool's win takes them back to seven points clear of second placed Arsenal in the race for the Premier League title, with silverware in Slot's first season looking all the more likely with each passing week. Wolves, meanwhile, remain looking nervously over their shoulder but will be boosted by the fact that only Ipswich Town picked up any points out of the sides below them this weekend.
Tottenham's first home win in 105 days lifts them up to 12th, but just a point separate them from Manchester United, who languish in 15th with just 13 games left of the campaign.
Arne Slot was much happier with the result than the performance at Anfield.
"These wins are even more important than when you play Tottenham and win 4-0. It's so difficult to win a game of football every three days. This win is an important one going into a tough week. We hope we can show the same mentality but more quality."
Meanwhile, his opposite number Vitor Pereira claimed that his side showed the Premier League leaders too much respect.
"In my opinion, we had too much respect for Liverpool in the first half. This is something we must prevent in the next game. We must be proactive and press them. I didn't like the first half. Second half, I'm very proud."
Ruben Amorim remained bullish despite his side failing to score once again in the Premier League.
“The difference of the game, they scored and we didn't. We had the opportunities”.
“I am not worried [on his future]. I hate to lose, that feeling is the worst. But I am confident on my work and I just want to win games”.
But matchwinner James Maddison was just happy to be back on the pitch after returning from injury.
“It’s always difficult being out injured. You miss one game or 10, you are always champing at the bit to get back. I went into the game today knowing I can be the difference.
“I’m really proud of the boys, obviously it has been an up and down season, we are not where we want to be in the league table. I’m really happy for the lads and for the fans, we’re sending them home happy.
Liverpool are in action again in midweek as they take on Aston Villa, before another full round of Premier League fixtures take centre-stage next week highlighted by Manchester United's trip to high-flying Everton, while Liverpool travel to Manchester City.
