Speaking ahead of tonight’s FA Cup game, Brighton (and let’s face it, future Chelsea) coach Fabian Hurzeler ramped up the expectations on his team and the match:

“We will go all in. It is a ‘do or die’ game. We have proven already this season that we can beat everyone. We will have a very positive mindset, of full confidence, to go into this game,” the young coach said.

He won’t have it all his own way – Yasin Ayari, Carlos Baleba and Pervis Estupinan are all important parts of his team and are all doubts for tonight. Hurzeler mystically said “there might be a possibility that two of those three have a chance to play.”

Ayari and Baleba are particularly important as the central midfielders – Chelsea get a huge boost if they’re out.

Up and down Brighton hard to predict

So what can Chelsea expect from Brighton? It’s hard to say, honestly. In their last game they were given a historic 7-0 thrashing by Nottingham Forest, but two games before that they beat Manchester United pretty handily at Old Trafford. We certainly expect them to bounce back from the big defeat with some determination, as Hurzeler promised:

“I’m not in a place to say if it’s fair or not fair. It’s about bouncing back and showing a reaction. All we can do is work hard and give the fans what they deserve. We all apologised after the game, and I do it again, but now it’s about looking to the future and sticking together. We need them as the 12th man.”

The Amex is not known as a scary stadium, but in an evening game like this, with 6000 away Chelsea fans, the atmosphere should be pumping, and this team will be desperate to bounce back from their humiliation. It should be a good one.
