Spurs out burst Ruben Amorim’s bubble
Tottenham host Manchester United in a heavyweight Carabao Cup quarter-final this week.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou always wins something in his second season at a club and the pressure is on.
While Spurs got back to winning ways on Sunday following their 5-0 victory at Southampton, quite how much can be taken from that is up for debate given the Saints’ perilous position in the Premier League.
Still, a victory over United would be a statement of intent.
Ruben Amorim’s side are yet to fully convince under his watch, albeit their dramatic 2-1 victory against Manchester City on Sunday will have raised confidence.
Here’s everything you need to know about the game.
Tottenham vs Manchester United is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off time on Thursday 19 December 2024.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will host.
TV channel: The game will be broadcast on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.

Destiny Udogie will need to be assessed by Spurs after limping off during the win over Southampton. Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Wilson Odobert, Richarlison, Mikey Moore, Ben Davies and Guglielmo Vicario are all expected to miss out.

Rodrigo Bentancur is suspended.
For United, it will be interesting to see if Amorim brings Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnahco back into the squad after dropping them for the Manchester derby.
Mason Mount came off early in that game and is a doubt, while Luke Shaw is injured.
It’s difficult to imagine Spurs winning quite as easily as they did in the 3-0 victory against Erik ten Hag’s United in September.
Still, with United yet to wholly convince, Postecoglou has to be confident.
