Spain put seven past hosts Switzerland in the UEFA Women’s Nations League, while Republic of Ireland and Turkiye both secured promotion.

The Dutch are two points clear with as many games to go, after edging Scotland with an Esmee Brugts strike. Belgium leapfrogged England into second place with Tessa Wullaert’s late penalty, after the Lionesses had first come from behind to lead with goals from Lucy Bronze and Fran Kirby.

GROUP A2: Portugal 1-2 Austria, France 0-0 Norway

France dropped their first points when held to a goalless home draw by Norway, Austria moving within striking distance of the leaders following their 2-1 victory in Portugal. All the goals came in a four-minute spell during the latter stages, Viktoria Pinther’s opener cancelled out by Ana Capeta only for Eileen Campbell to restore the lead.

GROUP A3: Denmark 2-1 Wales, Iceland 0-2 Germany

Amalie Vangsgaard and Sofie Bredgaard scored first-half goals for Denmark, Sophie Ingle played in Jess Fishlock to pull a goal back in the 72nd minute but it was a fourth straight win for the Danes. Germany remained three points behind the leaders after winning 2-0 in Iceland, where Giulia Gwinn converted a 64th-minute penalty and Klara Buhl ensured victory in stoppage time.

GROUP A4: Sweden 1-1 Italy, Switzerland 1-7 Spain

Spain’s fourth win in four group games moved them five points ahead of the rest. Alexia Putellas and Athenea del Castillo each bagged a brace, Oihane Hernandez, Maria Mendez and Maite Oroz also finding the net in Switzerland, while Alajah Pilgrim replied. Valentina Giacinti made a 56th-minute breakthrough for Italy in Sweden but Linda Sembrant equalised six minutes into stoppage time, to keep her side three points in front of their hosts.

Republic of Ireland won the group and promotion to the A League with a late Denise O’Sullivan goal in Albania, where severe downpours led to lengthy delays. Their success was helped by Northern Ireland, whose Danielle Maxwell cancelled out Dora Zeller’s goal for Hungary.

GROUP B2: Slovakia 1-0 Romania, Croatia 0-2 Finland

Finland sit five points clear of Slovakia at the top following a 2-0 victory in Croatia, where Spurs’ Eveliina Summanen struck twice in the first dozen minutes.

GROUP B3: Ukraine 1-0 Greece, Serbia 1-1 Poland

Poland threatened to increase their lead over Serbia in the battle for top spot when Natalia Padilla put them ahead but Dino Blagojevic levelled to rescue a point for the home side.

GROUP B4: Czechia 2-2 Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia 0-0 Belarus

Czechia twice equalised for a 2-2 draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina, who remain a point ahead of them in pole position. Belarus held Slovenia to a goalless draw despite a dismissal ten minutes from time.

GROUP C1: Moldova 3-3 Latvia, Andorra 0-3 Malta

Latvia scored twice in stoppage time to rescue a point in Moldova, with both sides reduced to ten with red cards in the last quarter of an hour or so. Malta made it four wins from four when away to Andorra.

GROUP C2: Georgia 0-3 Lithuania, Turkiye 1-0 Luxembourg

Turkiye won the group with two games to spare, leading by eight points after defeating Luxembourg.

GROUP C3: Azerbaijan 3-0 Montenegro, Faroe Islands 0-1 Cyprus

Azerbaijan opened up a three-point lead, while Cyprus move into second spot.

GROUP C4: Estonia 5-1 Armenia

Estonia are group leaders by three points but the other teams have played fewer matches, Israel have three in hand.

GROUP C5: Kosovo 3-1 North Macedonia

Kosovo went clear of Bulgaria at the top after defeating North Macedonia.
