As the hours pass, FC Barcelona have yet to receive approval from La Liga for Dani Olmo to remain registered as a Barcelona player.

Some within the club are confident that Olmo will continue to be listed as a Barça player and that “everything will be clear once the situation is definitively resolved.”

At the same time, though, there is growing confusion within other parts of the club, with uncertainty increasing over the success of the operation, reports Ferran Correas of SPORT.

At midnight, coinciding with the turn of the year, the deadline for resolving the registration issues of Olmo and Pau Victor will expire.

Barcelona have already exhausted legal avenues, with both the Commercial Court and the Court of First Instance refusing to grant a precautionary measure to keep Olmo’s license active.

Following that, the Catalans activated Plan C, involving the sale of a package of VIP seats at Spotify Camp Nou for around €100 million.

Barcelona submitted all the required documentation to La Liga several days ago, but the approval from the league has been delayed longer than expected.

The La Liga Delegate Commission is thoroughly reviewing the contracts, while at Barça, there are concerns about the process.

From La Liga’s perspective, approving a contract like the one submitted by Barcelona is not straightforward. The club must also provide guarantees of payment, and the contract must be reviewed not only by the Delegate Commission but also by an auditor.

This additional scrutiny is causing delays, increasing nerves, and further raising uncertainty.

At present, both the club and La Liga continue to work towards a positive resolution, with the aim of ensuring Olmo remains a Barcelona player starting 1st January.

If not, the 26-year-old can leave Barça as a free agent, as stipulated by a special clause in his contract.
