An update on the status of Barcelona summer signing Dani Olmo for the club’s next outing this weekend has on Monday been forthcoming online.

Midfielder Olmo, of course, was forced to watch on from home this past Saturday, as his new teammates in Barcelona kicked the club’s campaign into gear with a victory over Valencia.

The 26-year-old is fresh off penning terms with Hansi Flick’s side, but was not registered with La Liga in time for the clash, in part owing to his ongoing efforts to recover full fitness.

So, what is Olmo’s situation ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Athletic Club?

As per a report from Diario Sport, the player is for his part growing increasingly ‘impatient’ to make his Barca bow:

‘Dani Olmo is trying to stay calm, away from the noise and general alarm at the club due to the problems in generating fair play , but at the same time he is impatient to play his first minutes as a Barcelona player.’

And, though it cannot yet be guaranteed, the expectation behind the scenes at the Camp Nou is that Olmo will be registered in time to feature at the weekend.

The departure of one of Vitor Roque, Mika Faye or Clément Lenglet looks likely to come to fruition over the coming days, a development which would enable Olmo to be added to Barcelona’s wage bill, and in turn registered with La Liga.
