Utrecht competing with Genoa to sign Modibo Sagnan from Real Sociedad

Despite a more than underwhelming display at the Olympics for France this summer, Real Sociedad defender Modibo Sagnan remains in demand, according to Foot Mercato.

Following interest from Lens, Montpellier and Augsburg early last month, Italian Serie A side Genoa made a loan offer with an option to buy to Real Sociedad for the player at the end of July.

Now, however, Genoa – who have yet to make an improved offer for the player – face competition from Dutch Eredivisie side Utrecht for the 22-year-old Frenchman who have also formulated a loan offer with option to purchase the player. Discussions between the clubs are currently on going.
