Pachuca midfielder Víctor Guzmán has left the door open for a return to former club Chivas, but only if a move to Europe doesn’t materialise.
The Mexico international made the move from Guadalajara to Pachuca in 2015 – initially on loan before it became permanent a year later – and he went on to help them win the 2016 Clausura.
“(Going to Europe or going to Chivas) would be a matter of talking first with the president (Jesús Martínez), that he and I are already in an agreement,” Guzmán told Fox Sports.
“I might go to Europe, if it’s my dream and it’s a goal; but if it is not at the time the most convenient and the opportunity of Chivas is presented, I would go.”
‘El Pocho’ moved from Chivas before he could make the breakthrough into the first team.
It seems inevitable that he will return to Chivas at some point in his career. But when that occurs may depend on the level of interest from Europe in the 24-year-old.
