“You are a fake” – Real Madrid nemesis digs out Jude Bellingham | OneFootball

Jude Bellingham has been one of La Liga’s best players since arriving in 2023, but outside of Real Madrid, he does not appear to be particularly well-liked. His attitude towards referees is something that has been called out in the past, and last weekend, he was sent off for dissent by on-field official Jose Luis Munuera Montero during the match against Osasuna.

Despite an appeal from Real Madrid, the suspension has been upheld, meaning that Bellingham will miss matches in La Liga against Girona and Real Sociedad  – a big blow for the defending champions. However, one person that has laughed about the situation is Pablo Maffeo, who has been one of Los Blancos’ nemesis in recent years.

Maffeo has had regular run-ins with several Real Madrid players, most notably Vinicius Junior. However, it turns out that he prefers the Brazilian to Bellingham, as he made clear during a recent interview with Zona 10 (via Diario AS).

“I like Vinicius better than Bellingham because he’s like me – he’s hot-headed and comes from the front. The other is sneaky. It’s like in real life, if you don’t like me, perfect, but you come straight to me.

“If you go as a gentleman, the boy who is cold and I put the jacket on him, but then from behind you insult or mess with your teammates, then you are a fake. Come face-to-face. If I don’t like you too, if he already knows, but don’t come in a good way. So, if I have to choose one of the two, I choose Vinicius, who I know how he is.”

Maffeo has not missed his chance to go in on Bellingham, whom it is clear that he is not a very big fan of. However, the English midfielder is unlikely to think much of the remarks, as his focus will be on returning for Real Madrid after his two-match suspension.
