Borussia Dortmund starlet Youssoufa Moukoko made plenty of history with the Germany U-21s on Thursday, becoming their youngest-ever player and goalscorer in a 6-0 win over San Marino.
At 16 years, 286 days, Moukoko started Germany’s 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier, breaking the record previously set by Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz (17 years, 159 days).
Moukoko’s goals in the 39th and 41st minutes also broke Julian Draxler’s decade-long record. Draxler was 17 years, 323 days old when he netted in 2011.
Moukoko is already used to breaking ‘youngest-ever’ records, already becoming the youngest player to play in both the Bundesliga and the Uefa Champions League.
At his tender age, Moukoko has already contributed three goals and an assist for Dortmund in 20 career appearances.
