According to Flo Schimak, Bayern Munich are closing in on extending Leroy Sané’s contract at the club.

It had previously been reported that Der Rekordmeister were considering offloading Sané this summer due to the significant wage package within the 29-year-old’s deal.

As well as this, it had been understood that a number of interested parties across Europe, such as Galatasaray and Arsenal, were looking to secure the German international’s signature.

Nevertheless, Bayern’s director of sport, Max Eberl, looked to rule out these reports, stating that Bayern had never suggested the winger’s future would not be in Bavaria come next season.

Now, it appears that Sané will remain at the Allianz Arena, with talks between the player and the club believed to be positive.

The record champions are yet to place an offer on the table for the 29-year-old, but Sané is believed to be willing to accept Bayern’s conditions.

The Bundesliga leaders are hoping to reduce the winger’s financial package, which would see Sané receive a lucrative performance-based contract.

Talks between the two are in the final stages with a final decision set to be made soon, but an agreement appears to be imminent.
